Day two was fun! We got to use hat blocks to make the bases of our ‘fascinator’ (mine’s turning more into a hatinator), sewing on millinery wire and starting to stitch the bias around the edging. Last December I received the last installment in a fibre club subscription. BFL (Blue-faced Leicester) and Angora blend.. divine, right? Well, I didn’t think so. The colours were so not… well, me. For 2 months I was considering trying to swap or sell it off to a more appreciative recipient. [...] [...] I enrolled for this course after seeing the Milliner’s Guild stand at the Living Creatively show back in August. I have always loved hats, but can never seem to buy them from the stores as I have a big old head (proven when I found out I have the biggest head in the current class [...] [...]  |
